Green Bioactives set to launch cell-cultured actives for beauty in 2026

Green Bioactives, a UK-based startup, which received £1.1M grant in April, now plans the commercial launch of its first plant cell culture-derived bioactives in 2026, focusing on personal care and cosmetics.
It works closely with clients to identify target molecules and cell lines, tailoring processes to preferences ranging from fully natural to GMO-based, with flexible downstream options (extracts or concentrates).

BlueRedGold raised €2.73M to scale automated saffron farming globally

BlueRedGold, a Swedish startup, raised €2.73M, notably from Paulig’s venture arm PINC, to build what it claims is the world’s first scalable automated indoor farming system for saffron.
It aims to both supply high-quality saffron, with several tonnes already requested, and license its AI- and robotics-powered platform globally across food, medical, cosmetics, and nutraceutical sectors.
The first facility will act as a modular, replicable blueprint for profitable saffron production, combining automation, consistency, and sustainability.
